Supplementary card question...

Hand in plenty cards from bounce games to a HC sec that hasn't got a clue.

I'm reading this back & forth and the only thing not coming to the fore is, was this a single cut from 9 - 5 and if so, are you saying that more than 1 card was handed in and all were taken into consideration even though they were not qualifying rounds?

I've always said if we could the betof theirs with the best of ours it could be better.
 Though defining what is 'best' could be contentious!

...Every game I play is for a score be it bounce or comp so afraid I don't buy into the line you are still under the same pressure.

Can you explain what the different pressure is between a Medal/Comp and a Supplementary then? Plenty of Medals have the choice of playing with mates. Isn't there a saying about playing every round the same (Practice or Comp)?

...
Thing to remember is that if you ask anyone about their best score it will 2-3 shots better in a friendly knock with family or friends than in medal play.
That's almost certainly just a matter of numbers - far more friendly rounds than Medal ones.

However, my lowest round (-1) was in a Medals/Comps and 4 of my 4 next lowest (+1) were also. And I play 10 or more times as many bounce games as comps.

Was introduced as a trial in England (and Wales, I believe) and is expected to be ratified for future use. There seems to be fairly universal approval but it isn't clear yet if it will be imposed on Scotland - apologies to Ireland as I don't know how they stand.

ESR is probably a fairer way rather than someone shooting the lights out 1 day for the HC sec to say, "we'll they're capable so lets drop them another 2" which was fairly common years ago.

Yes.

And yes.

Yes, yellow tees have their own SSS. Supplementaries are qualifiers.

Could never understand anyone doing a supp off the yellows to get their handicap down only then to struggle off the whites, what's the point.

I'm keen to get lower but I wouldn't do that!

Fish thats a good point my man its a vanity handicap, honestly some tees from the whites could be 40-50 yards further back making it a totally different course. Stick to sweeps and medals from the whites and you'll get a true refeclection of your handicap.
