Has the forum ever done a meet at sunningdale? I need a meet down in the south west or sure area!!! All these meets booked are MILES away!!!!!

Haha, not a chance I have time to organise what with being away with work so much! BZ to the people that do organise these meets though! Was just curious as was just surfing the net for courses to visit.

Personally wouldn't bother with Sunningdale but ..........

We seem to have quite a few Forumers down South West England (and Cornwall :p). How's about you guys getting your acts together and organising between you a mini "tour" over a few days (preferably just "out of holiday season") of your clubs to encourage us to travel all those miles to you?

the cost of sunningdale would limit the numbers i suspect, i think its around £250 in green fees alone to play both courses, great idea but not sure its viable.

It is not cheap - £280 for the day from 1 April to end Oct - not including any food. I thought it was better value for societies but the only option I can see is below!

The Sunningdale Golf Day 2013
From 7.30am Arrival and Welcome at Clubhouse
Buffet breakfast offering Bacon Rolls, Danish Pastries, Croissants,
Muesli, Juices, Tea, Coffee & Buck’s Fizz
Complimentary Newspapers
Complimentary Driving Range Tokens
From 8.12am Golf on the Willie Park designed Old Course (opened in 1900)
or the Harry Colt designed New Course (opened in 1923)
Including complimentary Halfway House drinks and snacks
The choice of golf course is subject to availability
Play from the Yellow Tees
From 12.00pm Players return to the Clubhouse
Pre-lunch drinks (on an account basis)
From 12.15pm Sunningdale Traditional Carvery Lunch in the Dining Room
(A Jacket is required for Gentlemen)
From 1.48pm Optional Golf on the opposite course
From 5.30pm Afternoon Tea and Prize giving with Bucks Fizz
£7,725 for 24 players 7 May to 25 July 2013
(Additional players £295 each) 3 September to 3 October 2013
£6,225 for 24 players 2 April to 2 May 2013
(Additional players £235 each) 8 October to 31 October 2013
£4,625 for 24 players 5 March to 28 March 2013
(Additional players £175 each) 13 August to 29 August 2013
For groups above 24 players, the additional charge for non-players is
£50 per player
One non-playing administrator for a golf day may be included free of
charge
All prices are exclusive of VAT and are subject to availability

sorry - the normal fees do include some food - but not the main lunch, which you have to have!
Guest bookings will be taken Monday to Thursday only, subject to availability. The Green Fee includes breakfast on
arrival for guests playing before 11.00 am and afternoon tea for guests playing after 12.30pm. Guests playing both
courses in one day will receive both breakfast and afternoon tea.

Those society rates are exclusive of VAT so based on 2nd April to may it would be £311 each for 24 players! Unless someone with their own company would like to make it a corporate day and claim back the VAT for us :p

That would bring it down to £260, so come on those with wallets deep enough show your interest! Just put off that new driver purchase for a year, so that next year you can get the new TM R25 or Ping G45.

You may remember that last year's Woburn trip (being repeated this week) was originally a Sunningdale trip and was quite good value before the end of the month. But they then intended to do some course maintenance when we wanted to go, meaning we wouldn't get the daylight in the last week of March ( or something like that) to get 2 rounds in. S we went to Woburn instead, had such a great day we rearranged for this year.

I'm still submitting cards to revive/receive my handicap and having spoken to them was told it's not a problem. I suspect it will be fine if your handicap is less than the 24 they request. :fore:

Give full_throttle a PM or post in the latest Woburn thread if you wanna come along. The more the merrier!

anyone wanted to play 36 hole comp at sunningdale 2 dates in august (tuesday and thursday bank holiday week i think) with the european amateur tour formly volvo amateur tour one of there few events which is close to actual green fees payable!
good day out including food.

It's on my bucket list, but at those prices it can stay there for a good while. There's only so much I can get away with the other 'arf. Club Membership, 1 society day a month & the odd treat like Woburn.
I did like the earlier suggestion about a mini tour in Cornwall. I'm there in mid-June for 10 days planning to play Perranporth, Trevose & going back to Newquay. Cutting short the hols to get back for Club Championship & Pro-am. Haven't told her that bit ! lol

I have the same issue, everything organized is miles away. Hence West Hill was a brilliant affair. I would love to do Sunningdale, but dont think a second mortgage is a good idea.

How about a round at West Byfleet (great course) or New Zealand GC (cant get their website to work). West Byfleet winter fees look a promising sub-50 quid.

I had my name down for Woburn, but lost track of it. :(
