Another Flak Jackets user here.

They stay on until the sun isn't blinding any more, or I finish my round. Once they've been on for a few minutes you forget they're there.

I might look like a pratt wearing them but I walk off the course with a migraine far less often now than before I got them, and that's the only thing I'm bothered about.

Theyre sunglasses!!!
Buy a pair if you dont already have any. Any pair, it doesnt matter. And just wear them on the course.

If you have several pairs, wear whichever ones you pick up at the time.

All this talk of golf sunglasses... theyre just sunglasses and your falling for the marketing!

I don't remember having seen an Oakley advert, although I guess they must be about somewhere.

I wanted sunglasses that I could keep on while I played shots, and weren't so dark that I had to take them off to look for a ball in the rough.

If your regular sunglasses fit the bill then great, but mine didn't.

I also think warning golfers of the nasty marketing people is futile. :)

all sunglasses are not the same, if you arent bothered about grass that looks a browny green, or traffic lights that look all the same colour, or car windscreens have multi-coloured bands on them like petrol marks then any old sunglasses will do.
Black iridium Oakleys give true colour reproduction and definitely reduce the 'harmful' rays hitting your eyes, but like anything in life, you get what you pay for.

I agree completely with you. If that kind of thing is important to you then buy Oakleys. If not, then save your money.

Just the same as buying own brand beans vs Heinz beans. If you can tell the difference then spend the money. Otherwise, thank your lucky starts that your tastes are not expensive, and keep your money!
