My bloc sunglasses are scratched to.buggery.so looking for a new pair of something for the summer.

I now have prescription distance glasses.bit don't need them for golf.something not too expensive, prefer brown lenses.

Fire away 👍

I love my Goodr shades. So much I bought a second pair. They are only £30-40. I've tried so many sunglasses over the years that distort the ground, or pinch too tight over my ears, but the Goodr ones are spot on. They have loads of colours and styles too. Very lightweight, if that matters to you.

Never heard of them a quick look in the website and I want a pair of their golf ones. Love the look of the Aurevoir Gopher shades.

Do you play in them and if so how do you find them as I really need a out for golf as the pairs I have whilst they’re superb and polarised they don’t seem to allow me to see the green reads very well.

I was in the Pro Shop at Seaham yesterday and they’ve just started selling these, never of heard of them before.

They sell for £29.99, postage is free or 2 pair for £50.00.

Sounds like a decent deal.

What is it with the names? Can't they just have normal ones?

Yeah I use them for golf when it's sunny. I'm dull, I just have the plain black ones. My second pair was plain black frame again but with reflective lenses. So they are both the 'OG' frame.

As I said, I always had a problem with curved lens making the ground look distorted, but these are pretty flat as well as being polarised, so they've been pretty good for me.

Can't comment about these but if you want to splash a bit, get a pair of the Oakley sunglasses with the golf, prizm, lenses. I have the XL halfjacket from a sale a good few years ago. Brilliant golf glasses. They don't move, they take the edge off the sun but don't dull things. You can start with them on the 1st in bright sunshine and then remove them after the round and discover it has gone cloudy. You wont have realised. No issue with reading greens.

Might give them a whirl then at £30 that’s a bargain and can leave them in my bag.

I do keep looking at the Oakleys but for the price they are I’d feel like I’m not getting VFM only using them on the course. My other glasses I use for day to day were a bloody expensive treat from Mrs M for my birthday so she’d likely shoot me if I didn’t wear them when not playing golf 😂
You best get 2 Pairs incase the wife puts one of them in her car.😬
You know what you’re right, I’ll order her a pair as well as I can already see it now “ooh these a nice I’ll just borrow them when your not home” or “well if you need them for golf surely I do to”

Might as well bite that bullet and just buy them now 😂

Currently 26% with Blue Light Card on Oakley - suspect same for Defence Discount as they usually have all the same offers. Looks like discount rate is available until 29 Mar.

As we see so much sun out here, and it’s generally stronger, I wear sunglasses almost every day. I don’t skimp on them at all. The best in my opinion in terms of lens clarity are Ray-Ban. However, they’re not cheap and the lenses seem to be a bit softer and prone to scratching. Almost as good but cheaper are Maui Jim, my last 2 pairs being them.

Our optician has said Northern Europeans need lenses as dark as they can and with good uv-protection.

Just looked based on your recommendation. Currently doing 21% defence discount, so once applying the code it’s still over £130 for pair online. Not sure I wanna part with that much on a pair of sunglasses that I’ve not tried on to see if I even like them. But the ones @Orikoru suggests at £30 a pair I can give a go and if I don’t get on with them have a wife that will happily steal them 😂

I just get my trusty Ray-Bans reglazed with new polarised prescription lenses whenever my distance prescription changes.
There are proper opticians with an online presence who will sell you the frames you want and glaze them to your specs for about half the price of going to Ray-Ban.

I'm Okaley all day long.
Ejectors in the car and anpther om the van.
Halfjackets in the golf bag with the golf specific lens in, along with a pair of black polarised lenses if I want to change the lenses over.
Apart from the lens accuracy, no distortion and safe for the eyes, they are nice and light and stay in place without irritating which is what my Ray Bans used to do.

I have prescription distance glasses, so just have the same with tints.

My preference for is aviator style which work when either looking at the ground or looking up, with grad tints for driving.

Prices at

selectspecs.com

keep the cost down to something reasonable, tints are normally +£30 sometimes they do a special of free tints.
