Stupid O'clock - early tee times?

tomorrow it is a 7.55am tee off. Gets me round and home for lunch before heading to the football.

During the summer months our 4 ball made the 6.03 tee time on a saturday our own. it was brilliant. a bit stiff for the first hole though.

I'm off 1st (or 2nd?) at 7.40 this Sunday. Normally, I get up then, leave at 8.40 for a 9.30-10.00.

If I'm awake enough to play, we'll see.

In the Summer months i have been known to play at 5:30ish which after the shock of being up that early and failing to see my tee shots on the opening 2 holes i enjoyed. Back home by 8:30 - 9ish calling at the greasy spoon on the way back for a full English!

As an insomniac, anything after 2.30 am is fine. I always get up at 6.45, but am always awake for hours before that. Usual saturday tee off time is round 8.00, but I get there at 7.15 for when the kitchen opens. Swindle tee times are drawn at 7.45.

Medal wise, normally around 9, as I like an hour down the practice ground before brekky.

We play between 7.30- 8.00 in the summer and 8.30 in the winter any later you get the weekend piss heads coming out and slowing it down ,its the best time of the day to play home for dinner time after a couple pints and a roll then of to watch Dundee if there at home. :D

I take it you guys don't have children then I can have a lie in and still make an 8 o clock tee time :)

Yeh, but we've trained them not to wake us at the weekend until 10.30

I'm actually feeling cold already just thinking about being out there at 8am. Having to tee of like some of you do at 7am makes me feel physically ill. Surely wet greens and sun in your eyes can't be enjoyable?

I thought the 1pm tee off time at Tyrrells Wood (20min drive) the other week was a bit early :o

Im off at 8:40 a.m in the morning and since my clubs 30-40mins drive im up for 7 to be leaving at 7:45
We hane societies out at 9-11 most saturdays so if you dont get out before them everyone knows how long the days going to be.

Well, there's agood covering of frost on the gound this morning. It's absolutely baltic out there. Clear blue sky and I'm sure it will warm up when the sun gets up. Maybe even get to double figures in the sun ;)

I think an early afternoon slot will be the order of the day today. Let the frost go and the resulting wet grass dry out.

I bet there will still be a scrum on the first wanting to get out there and do battle even if the first signs of the coming winter are evident this morning.

We tend of go out on a saturday between 1030-1100, but I get there an hour and a half early to practice and have a coffee. Last year when I wasnt a member of the club it used to be tee off between 0630-0700 and the earlist been 0615 just because the members book between 0700-1100ish.

I used to love frosty early mornings when the sun is out and the course empty, then come home for about 10-1030 and off to town shopping with HID (a few beers ;) )

It was certainly fresh at 8.00 this morning. Blommen freezing more like. The type of day when you are searching the boot looking for every spare bit of clothing that might be hidden in there, left over from last winter.

I'm teeing off tomorrow at 8am.... isn't that before the sun even comes up? :D

It's the first comp I've played in over 12 years and definately the earliest start in my life! I'm going to have to get up 20 minutes before I even go to bed :p

How did it go then ?
