Stupid game

Scabbed it round 9 holes today in 2 under. I must have hit about 3 or 4 good shots and "got away" with the rest. Poor strikes that made it onto the front or held onto the left or right hand side of the green.

I putted well enough and had one outrageous up and down thanks to an amazing lob over a bunker, landed in the heavy fringe grass and rolled out to 2 feet.

I've had days of great ball striking and walked off +4 for 9 holes. Just shows you, its a funny old game.

Wow,I wouldn't mind "getting away" with a score like that mate,I will take a result any which way I can! Good stuff!

Funny enough I sometimes feel better to have hit it great and not make a score than nobbled it round and played to my handicap

Had a similar bounce game today, +2 for 12 holes and I can only think of 2 shots that I flushed, just kept the ball reasonably straight without much distance and seemed to get down in 2 from the fringe every time.

I find it quite amazing how sometimes you come off having 'played well' and not scored great, yet other times you knob it around and score great with a few decent chips and putts.

It is stupid sometimes.

I always laugh at rounds when I start off poorly (4 over for four) and seem to be hitting it rubbish. Chip in at the 5th for par, par the next 3 and birdie the 9th. Suddenly 3 over for 9.

Stuff like that freaks me out.

Was there a chance you could have still done the 18?

If not, maybe not as much pressure to score well, so relaxed a bit more than normal.

No it was only a quick 9 as I'd already mucked my wife about and she'd changed her plans once today.
