Today I hit four GIR and three putted three of them. I narrowly missed another three GIR and three putted them from the fringe. I had a Kevin Na nightmare on one hole thrashing around in the wet, long grass like an absolute tool when I should have goneback to the tee in the first instance. My ball upped and vanished like a fart in the wind even though I'd seen it bounce twice. I should be smashing up my golf bag with my driver and wrapping my irons around a lampost. My putter should be swimming with the fishes andmy wedges lobbed in a bin.

Instead I'm sat here thinking about how much my iron play has improved and pondering when I can next go out and play. Stupid ******* game :(

I know how you feel Tiger, midweek 9 hole comp I had three points after 4 holes (arms were made of bubblewrap!), lined up my approach to the 5th hole, 6 iron and pulled it 30 yards left. 6 iron got hit against the ground and snapped in two. in the last 4 holes finished with 9 points (12 total)

Today I went out today and shot a 76 +5 (with no 6 iron as it is awaiting a new shaft!) and got cut and am over the moon especially when I started par-double, it all could have crumbled but I chose to stick to a plan before I went out and it paid off in the long run, nearly bottled my second shot to the last too for a 2-3 inch tap in birdie.

Stick with it matey, we all have our really bad rounds.

You had a plan?

Certainly did Bob, as per your advice I tried to stick to keeping it in play and find a fat part of the green though if the flag was right at the back I would go the extra few yards. The only real hole where it failed was the second hole, par 5 where I just got too close to the trees on the right, second shot wasnt overly ambitious but did require a clean hit and I thinned it a little, rest is history, wont bore you! :D

6 cuts this year now, still not sure if I am due any end of year adjustments though.

I hit the ball well at the Grove and had a massive dose of the hooks from driver to wedge yesterday. No idea why but what can you do. We all know its a stupid game but we'll keep coming back. Are you sure you aren't trying too hard now when it comes to comps Tiger and undoing all the good work you say youa re doing in practice

Nail on the head. Play so much better without a card in my hand it's crazy.

Wish I had fallen off the wardrobe Brendy. Stretched my LCL in my right knee. Hopefully a minimal layoff but no full swings till it stops feeling sore.
