So my apex UT arrives from the states and the box is battered, I open it up and it's snapped in half. Contact the seller and he says I'll check with the shop, I tell him not to bother as it's the carrier but he's addimant so I let him do it. Today I get a message saying USPS delivered it a week before they did and I'm I liar. Well USPS don't exist in the UK and it was delivered by yodel and tracked. Stupid seller, I have no option to escalate it now.

Ask him to provide the proof of delivery from USPS to you at your registered (Payment) address.

I would hazard a guess it was delivered to Yodel a week ago for onward delivery to you.

It's not brilliant either way!

He showed me proof of delivery to the international hub! That's why I'm calling him stupid, on the tracking link on eBay it states multiple carriers. Anyhow I've emailed him the yodel tracking showing the actual delivery. Not sure he's that smart mind as he was going to check if I was covered by Callaway warranty

Did you pay using PayPal?

Maybe worth contacting Yodel as well to mention the contents are damaged. I assume you signed for the goods "in good condition" although hopefully not.

I actually said to the courier at the time the box looks battered, you don't sign for goods received in good order though do you just received, who opens the box on the doorstep

Paypal are pretty good about these things so don't worry about escalating if the seller continues to be a prat. As you say, more annoying than anything else. The issue is for the seller as they will not get the value of the club back from the carrier. They are the one who will lose out.

Yodel are a nightmare to work with when a parcel has been damaged. In your case you'll be fine though cos eBay/PayPal will refund your money.

I sold a putter Sunday night, someone with no feedback bidded in the last few seconds, hasn't paid for 3 days, so had to escalate that, handy as I've had someone emailing me since then saying he wanted it. Can't do anything until Saturday night. Makes u wonder what goes through peoples head, maybe they just like a wind up.

eBay can be good and bad, but I've just had my bad experience too. Purchased a 'New' Garmin S2 watch at a great price, initially looked new but on closer inspection is actually used.
Seller admitted it was used but it had only been worn for one round, which I doubt looking at the watch.
Thankfully managed to get a refund!

A bit late to add, but never sign for anything without inserting the word unchecked next to your signature. That way you are declaring you have not checked the condition of the goods and are then legally able to declare damage where they have no recourse by saying you signed for it and accepted the delivery.

Id escalate it so far theres no way id ever let that slide, Ebay usually favors the buyers so get your money back or what ever you think is suitable just dont let them get away with it
