Stromberg shoes.

Interesting read.
The stand out for me was 14 rounds and the spikes are shot.
I would never call Stromberg a cheap brand, having a couple of pairs of their trousers, but I find them always on the small size compared to others sizing so for that reason ( and the spikes wearing out so quick) I would probably never consider their shoes.
I have no problems with grip in my Ecco's spikeless, all year round.
The thing about the spikes being shot after 14 rounds. It’s an odd one. They are only a half spike shoe. A kinda hybrid cross between. I changed 7 in total. But some of them would of lasted
A few more rounds. What I will say about the spikes. They are a screw in thread type. Never had them before but I am impressed.

My Eccos have soft spikes, which are the 'Champ Zarma' variety - I know this because I bought a replacement bag. The little points of the spikes break off after a while - 90% of the time it's the ones at the toe end of the right shoe, which makes sense as that's the part of your foot that's twisting in the ground when you swing. Once two of the points have broke off I replace that spike; this probably happens after a few months each time - especially when we're playing off mats. I don't think it's any reflection on the shoes, this will just happen with most of them due to wear and tear on that area.

Getting the broken one out is absolutely torturous, but the new one clicks in easily afterwards.

I have a couple of ECCO Shoes, they are a solid shoe and both of them are spikeless. Both are a good bit heavier and both are nowhere near as comfy as the Stromberg. Totally agree with the end of the spikes breaking off. Like I say I could have carried on using the shoes but the grip is superb with the spikes as new.
The shoes were uber Comfy in the soggy and boggy ground. Be interesting to see what the summer Strombergs are like on firm summer ground as they are spikeless.

The amount of golf shoes i have is ridiculous, all of the brands (ecco, FJ, addidas, NIKE) and in some cases if i liked them id buy the same thing in different colours.
I will get a pair of the Strombergs as the grip on them was really good, our course is up and down, plenty of slopes so worth while. (have to wait and see if our goody bag shows up)
If we have another summer like last year where everything was burnt out and rock hard i might have to refrain from buying the summer version as my inventory is overloaded at the moment with code chaos and air jordans.

Is this in the magazine?
My playing partners have been very unkind today. They never recognised my slim figure. They certainly never recognised that finish to a swing. They think someone has pinched my clothes.
Amazing what a pair of shoes does to your self esteem. 😖
