OK guys as some of you may know i stop golf for a few years but when i stopped i had custom fitted irons but now i have gone with standard irons

I have been thinking for a while to go back to my old irons to see if it makes a difference and if it does am going to get my standard irons custom fitted.

A right pain in ass as just bought them a few weeks back aswell and decided to go for standard

does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to change a set of shafts from old to new irons and increase the lie by 2 degrees aswell

my other irons are longer thats another reason why i wanted to use them instead of getting brand new shafts.

any advice would be great

oooo can't really help I'm afraid, but in the modern day where you pay no extra to have your irons fitted why did you choose to go for standard clubs when you already knew that you weren't standard specification? Makes no sense to me. I think if I remember correctly though someone once told me Ping will alter their irons for £8 a club or something like that. So it shouldn't be overly expensive, a lot would probably be to do with what make your irons are.

reason is cause i havent played golf for nearly 5 yrs and was still growing etc when i stopped at age of 20 etc so decided to try standard irons anyway as when i bought them i hardly swung a club so thought no need to get custom fitted until i get my swing back and now i think it shows i need custom fitted tho

going to try my old irons 1st and go from there tho

Where did you get them from?

Are you a member anywhere, if so, do you have a club fitter there. If not, just find a local club with a fitter.

Friend of mine was saying this morning he was going to get one of his done for a couple of quid, not sure if he is right with the price but imagine it wont be too expensive.

Where are you? Would be happy to point you at a couple of people.

You can spend a truck load of cash if you are not careful tho so have a pretty clear idea of budget before you start and dont go too much over it.

Around here, you'd probably pay £4 or £5 per iron to have them adjusted (lie), length is going to be expensive, since you'll need new grips. If you want to swap the shafts, I wouldn't know where to start....IF you can find someone to do it, they are going to want a fair whack, time alone is going to be a minimum £60-70?

Don't know otherwise, I'm going to see a proper club-fitter tomorrow.....should I ask...?

1st thing is i wont need length as all am doing is changing shafts which is a easy process same with adjusting the lie.

The grips i wont be changing as there brand new and easy to remove and put back on.

I will be going back to the place i bought them as i trust them and where i got my last set custom made.

But am not 100% sure am doing all this 1st am going to play with my old irons 1st and go from there
