Just had a letter from St Andrews Links Trust, which started 'St Andrews Links Trust is delighted to confirm that you have been successful in your application to play at the Home of Golf, and that you habve been allocated a tee time'

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss get in there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Playing the Old Course 20 October 2011 tee off 10.40, and also playing the New Course 19 October tee off 10.48. Tee off times couldn't be better, as will give time for a lie in after a heavy night before, and plenty of time to get extremely nervous. Must remember to pack my brown trousers. :D

Hopefully will be able to arrange a couple of other games, whilst we are up in Scotland, on the 19th, and 21st October.

Something to look forward to for a whole year :D The anticpation can sometimes be better than the event, but not in this case!

Yep, second shot into 18 is what nappies were made for :o

Old course is a great once in a life time round but given the choice i'd play the new evertime.

While your up there drive over to Anstruther, proper links that mate :)

Nice one. Well worth waiting for.

Same thing happened to me recently, then I woke up. :( :D

I'm sure you'll have a great time. Don't forget to post how you got on.

Played it just the once, 4 degrees c and very windy . Very enjoyable nonetheless.
My eagle on 10th will live long in the memory.
1st, 17th and 18th are the most memorable holes.

Tee shot on 1 is an odd one - all the room in the world, especially for a hooker like me, but you just want to get one away without making a total arse of yourself!

I made a decent 4 on 1st and had a steady round thereafter, an easy course for a right to left player as it's an anti-clockwise loop, bad news if you're a left to righty though!

Yes, nice course to play once. Not that challenging if there is no wind. When I played it a couple of years ago, I pulled every shot left and was in position A every time. Jubilee was harder than both new and old in my opinion. You can just walk on, on the day at the new and jubilee. It was only about £60 last time I played

That's it cheer up a left to righty

Less that one year to go and counting.

Got my letter today also :) :) :)

Old Course- 12 May 2011- 10.50am
New Course- 13 May 2011- 10.00am

Cant wait, will be my first time playing any of the St Andrews courses.

Had the great pleasure of playing there today in the company of GolfCityDeweller, cracking course better than what i'd expected as i've walked round it hundreds of times.

Even better was a cheeky 4 at 17 and a 3 at 9 nearly did a Baker Finch at the last hit a horrendous hook which nearly went out of bounds.

for those who have been lucky to get tee times for next season - well done .. don`t worry about the opening tee shot ..sleep well it`s the biggest fairway in the world without a bunker ! just ask steve k :D

Played it in 1991. Stood on the first tee shitting myself. Was so nervous. Came right over the top and put my ball in the valley of sin then took a divot the size of a boa constrictor with my second shot. I think I blobbed that hole...

Superb!! :D

My mate took 3 attempts at getting the ball to rest on the tee at the 1st and said he had to pull his hand away the 3rd time as it was wobbling like F and was amazed and pleased to see it stayed on....he reckoned he was just about to change clubs and hit 3 wood off the deck until then!! :D

I will definitely be hitting the big dog, to hopefully guarantee some sort of contact .
