Hot on the heels of my 40 shot front nine yesterday, I went to play 18 today to see if I could keep it up, shot a 2 over par 38 on the front nine and followed it up with a 43 on the back nine for a PB of 81, including two 3 putts.
for those who like the details. heres the hole by hole.
Hole 1 par 3, tee shot left of the green, chip to 10 feet, holed putt for a par 3
Hole 2 par 4 about 30 yds short in 2, chipped to 6 feet but missed putt so bogey 5
Hole 3 par 5 just short in 3, holed chip for birdie 4
Hole 4 par 3 tee shot left, chipped to 8 feet, missed putt so bogey 4
Hole 5 par 4 just short in 2 chipped to 3 putt and holed putt for pa4 4
Hole 6 par 5 just short in 3 chipped to 5 feet and holed putt for par 5
Hole 7 par 4 just short in 2 left chip quite short 2 putts for a bogey 5
Hole 8 par 5 front edge of green in 3 2 putts for par 5
Hole 9 par 3 just through the green from tee chipped to 6 feet and holed putt for par 3
Hole 10 par 4 (temporary green) left of green 2, poor chip, and 3 putted for double bogey 6
Hole 11 par 5 (tempopary green) 3rd shot to 10 feet, missed putt so par 5
Hole 12 par 3 bad tee shot and missed green with 2nd but chipped to 2 feet and holed putt for bogey 4
Hole 13 par 4 bad second left 90 yds under trees, pitched into bunker out to 20 feet, 2 putts double bogey 6
Hole 14 par 3 tee shot into bunker, out to 6 feet but missed putt so bogey 4
Hole 15 par 5 on green in three but on bottom tier of green way short with 1st and missed with 2nd so a bogey 6
Hole 16 par 4 Just short in 2 chipped to a foot holed putt for par 4
Hole 17 par 5 170 from green in 2, nailed a 3 wood to green and 2 putts for a par 5
Hole 18 par 3 tee shot to green 2 putts for par 3
Really played well but I do realise that playing off fairway mats is helpful, particularly my 3 wood, and as the greens are soft its easier to stop pitches, but its a great confidence builder.
