Apologies to those who already know about this but it's new to me.

The skill that allows you to turn on your computer with Alexa without having to press the power button on the PC.

''Alexa, turn on the PC''
The computer boots up to your desk top without you having to go near it
This means the PC doesn't have to be out so you can get to it and if you have one of the 'mini PCs' you can hide it (and the cables) away out of sight. Brill
If this is of any interest to anyone, this guy takes you through the steps.

Nice. I use it to turn the Xbox on. Mainly because the button has tape over because the kids love to play with it

Isn't leaving things on standby wasting electricity? How is that compatible with trying to help the planet?

Standby / low power mode saving are a complete and utter myth

A TV will use 5w .. not even kw that's 0.005kw a year on standby ....

Might make me buy a microphone for my desktop PC

No hang on a minute it also means I have to buy an Alexa.
