Any of the Tog24 stuff. Cheap as chips and really smart looking gear.
Just be aware, Soft-shell jackets aren't the warmest of things. They are designed to keep rain/wind out, they don't have great thermal protection. (compared to something like a fleece)

Depends how much you want to spend - simialr to golf gear.

I got a Tog soft shell for £20 that does me for walking the dog but also have a North Face shell that cost me £80. Tog does the job but the quality is better in the North Face.

I got a grey softshell North Face coat in Florida LT, it's beautiful.

I think it was somewhere around $45.

Prices were ludicrous out there even with the poor exchange rate.

It was like a Harry Enfield sketch. Flammable trackies and Lacoste sweatshirts were the most popular things I remember. Never seen a market so big. Does it still exist?

No shut about 3 years ago. Loads of development planned for that area. Just to be a pedant, it wasn't in Bootle.

Bought this jacket on the back of this thread, it's an absolute belter of a jacket for the money.
Highly recommended it if your looking for a windstopper, great for the course as well.

I ended up with a nearly new North Face jacket via a well known auction site. Very happy with it. That Berghaus one looks good though, good buy.
