I'm looking at getting one of these for walking the dog, general wear. I know North Face do sexy ones but I don't want to spend that much. Any suggestions or recommendations?

I've got a dare2b one, I think they're part of the reggatta brand.

Mate, search on Google for Montane, the factory shop is around Ashington, quality gear and bargains to be had.

Ha ha. I remember going to a huge market in Bootle a few years ago. It was enormous but everything in it was a copy of a brand. Not one item was genuine. I presume the police either just turned a blind eye or bought their gear from there as well. It would have been some pile of paperwork to seize 200+ stands plus stock.

Paul - Thanks for the tip. I had no idea they were there. It is only about 15 mins away from where I live. They do good gear so a bargain of theirs would be good.

Try nightgear.co.uk

Lots of jackets in there for good prices

Quite popular with the military

That was the heritage market, very popular on a Sunday.

Full of trackies, I believe.:whoo:

Keela do decent soft shells.

Try brnaches of ARCO and industrial workwear companies, they often have sale days and they have premium brands plus their own which usually are on a par.

Example, Arco trojan goretex waterproof jacket with hood, £120 plus VAT, similar from premium company well over £200 plus VAt and no better. I buty them for my grounds maintenance teams they wear them regullalrly grafting and get well over 12 montyhs from an item of workwear

I've got a BergHaus which I have used for a number of years. It's a very good product and has a fold away hood in the collar.
