Cod and chips as a rule but love a bit of scampi now and again. Best I ever had was a chippie in Whitehaven but we have an excellent one on the other side of Bracknell. 10 minutes in the car but worth the trip

Haddock every time, partial to a bit of plaice but to get plaice you need to order when entering the shop, I don't like my fish straight out of the fryer,

When available... Skate... Used to like a bit of Halibut but haven't seen that on the menu for ages... Also partial to a bit of Rock Salmon but these days its nowhere near as good as it was... Yes, I am aware Rock Salmon, as such, doesn't exist its whatever they use these days to pass for it just ain't as good as before...

In the West Country we used to ask for a 'Fish Lot' This was Wurzel talk for 'Cod and Chips' No one in the god forsaken Midlands seems to understand you when you ask for this

We also called Plimsoles 'Daps'
