So whose going to the cinema to see the Hobbit on release?

Just learned this morning that The Hobbit is rated as a 12A. My 7 year old daughter has been on at me to take her to see it since the trailers started appearing on the telly weeks ago. Not sure what to do now. :mmm:

I dont think the Hobbit or LOTR are Children's stories, they are too deep and gory for youngsters. I think people see it's about little people called Hobbits and associate it with 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' but it is not the same.
Tolken's stories are extremely deep and the background to them is difficult to follow. Has anyone read 'The Silmarilian' That was a tough one but fascinatingly complex.

I took the misses to see that mindless drivel Twilight finale and it wasn't on cheap Tuesday or orange Wednesday so I had to pay £8.80 each just for a two hour kip. So I'm owed one and I think I will be cashing in on the hobbit, she normally sleeps in the cinema whenever pick the film!!

the problem with the Hobbit is that its not a very long book, so to make it into a film trilogy seems a bit strange to me. LOTR was a 3 book trilogy so it made sense to do a film per book (or more or less). I will be going in the first week of release though.
