You can use what ever you want to mark your ball.

I tend to use coins from places I have travelled to.

I use plastic ball markers from East Sussex National. I have a bag full of them. The white ones do the job fine but I also have quite a few of the dark green ones they used to give away. The green colour fitted the theme of the club but are a nightmare to find on the green!
I once caddied for a South African guy who used a gold kruger rand coin as his marker.

I mostly use an old white button with a metal pin/loop in the back. Playing with one of our senior ladies a while back she asked "did you know you're using an old corset button for your ball marker?".

I use an old 1933 penny that I found in a bag of old coins. Funnily enogh, for it's age it is in great condition, almost as if it had never been used.

A half pence coin from 1964 that I found in the loft a few months ago.

Just out of curiosity what inspired you to revive a thread that is over three years old? Was it...

a) you wondered if we had a previous discussion about marking your ball and didn't want to start a new thread
b) the subject of dead wildebeest ball markers piqued your interest (I wonder if it could double up as ball marker and pitchmark repair tool, may as well use those horns for summat useful)
c) you only recently joined the forum and are playing catch up by reading every thread

I really hope it's c) because there are bound to be some other gems you can unearth! Welcome to the forum :)

I use an Augusta Marker or one got from Ladybank a couple of years ago. Prefer decent sized markers so I.m not having to empty my pockets trying to find a small coin.

25Cent coin or a marker from the club in Florida where I was a member (makes me feel warmer at this time of year). I have a few of the poker chip markers that I have collected from various clubs.

I have a bag full of lucky (haha) markers everything from big to little foreign coins plus a few course markers but tend to use the arsenal Scotland one I got made for society event .

Surprisingly none off them seem to make a bit of difference to my missed putts

I use a Swedish 5 Krona from 2003. Swedish because my other half is Swedish, from 2003 because we met for the first time then and 5 because I'm a big Liverpool fan and it represents the 5 Champions league victories. Also the top of the 5 has to point towards the hole whenever I mark my ball.
