I'm staying at Sissinghurst and went for a pootle about looking at the local Golf courses, soooo many to choose from and sooooo different.
Went to Staplehurst first, public 9 hole, new and looked a bit run down, friendly enough and had an empty driving rang so tried it out...... I'm really missing my practice :-((
I was looking for Biddenden, an 18 hole par 3, but my sat nav thought I meant Chart Hill. The approach and practice facilities were quiet impressive, I had the feeling my Honda Jazz was a bit out classed in the car park, and I can't remember seeing a club house that big, that was not a 5* hotel. At 70.00 don't have time to do it justice.
I then headed back to Sissinghurst and found Hemsted Forest g c, now your talking
)) looks very nice, and I love trees, every thing about it made me want to stay and play, so will be back later in the week, and after 5pm £10.00. Anyone played their?
Still haven't found the par 3 course, next time I will jot down the post code, Doh!!
These three are all less than 5 miles away and probably another half dozen within 10 miles, some people are sooooo lucky
