Snow

Coldest night of the winter last night with temps down to minus seven. This morning on my way to Perth the Cooncil were out cutting the grass at the side of the A90!!!

Anyone in the south-west stuck in because of snow, is it as bad as the media say?
.

I don't do snow. So I stocked up for a couple of days to be prepared.

Looking out of my window it was only abot 3-4 inches but we are low lying. The snow we got on the high ground of the golf course on Tuesday/ Weds never thawed out so probably deeper.

Local road (ungritted) the snow has nearly all gone now, so expect the local part of the A303 to be relatively clear.

What annoys me is when the council gets berated for not gritting, local TV reports on Wednesday evening had reports from the gritting centres and the managers were talking about how much gritting they were going to do that night.

I made it to Yeovil from Weymouth up the A37 at six this morning and the roads were fine all the way.

Where I live it was 2 or 3 inches over night. Still snowing this morning as well. Golf tomorrow is likely ruined. Footy could well be off Sunday morning as well. Hate the bloody snow.

Love the idea of snow. Great landscape views and the excitement on my boys faces in anticipation, except today where it was disappointingly scarce compared to the forecast. But on the other hand, it buggers up everything else. No kids football tomorrow, certainly no golf and tricky conditions to get to the Amex tomorrow with my boys.

I think what the south got recently and the little bit Newcastle got today, is only just the calm before the storm. The met office eluded albeit it briefly to high pressure building over mainland Europe, likely back end of next week for week starting 11th Feb, that and a weak jet stream, weak NAO and the SSW event that occurred a while back suggests easterlies.

This doesn't necessarily mean snow, but it does mean very cold weather.

just been out walking the dogs and going past Torvean, i notice two guys go to the clubhouse see the course is closed sign, get back in the car, drive across the road to the green keepers shed car park and go and play the back 9:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: perhaps they thought only the front was closed:unsure:

Had about 5 inches. Pain in the nether regions. Have bought a snow shovel to clear the drive. Normally use a broom, but it is way quicker with a snow shovel. No golf for me this weekend.

Snow in Glasgow when I woke up Tuesday morning, I drove down to Crewe only to wake up to snow there Wednesday morning and now it's snowing back up in Glasgow tonight. The bloody stuff is following me around!
