For once I have a genuine excuse to buy a new driver!
I was at the range this afternoon honing my powerslice when all of a sudden there was no weight on the end of my shaft (oooh Matron!)
The shaft whipped through so quickly I almost ended up on the grass and the head of the club went bashing and clanging around the range.
Total wipeout!

So... what do I get next??????

I am going to be no help at all but this happened to me with a 4 wood( real wood) about 25 years ago. It went further than I could hit balls at the time!!
I managed to recover the head when everyone stopped hitting balls and had it reattached. I still have the club in the garage somwhere.

I would try the Nike machspeed mate, I am using a demo one at the minute and it is very good, wasnt sure about the square head, but it is actually very nice at address and nice to use. even if it is not your cup of tea, give it a go.

If I was looking, I'd look no further than Ping G15, Callaway diablo (old or edge), maybe Cobra and Nike.

I have a Nike club with the weird cryogenically treated steel face and it leaves me a bit cold.

I knew after last weeks performance that his driver was not going to be around for much longer, However i envisaged burial via ebay rather than this enforced change.

maybe i shall let him borrow my G15

But maybe i wont

I'm afraid not.
If you had lost the head, then I'd say fair enough.
But you found the head so it's a re-glue and it's fit for another 10 years loyal service. :)
Nice try though. :D

Unless the shaft actually snapped in which case a new shaft would suffice. :)

I have the Ping g10 and every time someone puts one past me they seem to be using a Cobra, Check one out, there may be something in it!

Ah! But you havn't seen the damage to the head caused by landing on something very hard at about 100 mph! Its not a pretty sight..

Mate of mine bought a new Cobra ZL driver a month or two ago and couldn't get on with it. I had a couple of knocks with it and was very, very impressed. Great sound and terrific flight on the ball.
I was tempted to buy it off of him but have stuck with my G10.
But the Cobra is certainly worth looking at.
