The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
Well, just got home from a fabulous day at Wentworth.
Huge thanks to Cameron and the crew from Callaway and of vourse GM for the opportunity.
Got there embarrassingly early, as did a few others, 4 from the Forum and 4 who won via Twitter, although a couole of them are on here as well.
Good bunch of Guys, we had a good old chinwag until everyone arrived.
A few sarnies and then we got our Goody Bags containing a shirt, cap, glove, windproof ja ket, tees and a dozen balls - excellent!
And then off to the range - not the Wentworth range but a Private grass range about a mile away on the Estate. There we had a range of clu s to warm up with - Apex irons as well as hybrids, fairways and drivers. Cameron was taking a few pics and we oughed tbrough the balls while the Trackman charged up.
One by one we got fitted and then weng over to get filmed for the adverts.
The fitting was fairly quick but quite thorough, I ended up with a Big Bertha 10.5 degree with the stovk Fubuki stiff shaft and number 3draw on the sliding weight system. Matt started me on a 13.5 reg as my driving was so poor (my words) and I hit it ok, just very high. So we came down the lofts and finished with the 10.5 stiff which I was carrying 245 yards relatively straight - that'll do me!
Over to the filming.
1 shot from behind, 1 from each 45 degree angle, then one from the side - we had to hold the finish pose for 5 seconds to give time for the on screen info to be added. Thoroughly enjoyable and a great laugh.
Then, Mighty Joe Miller hit the ball further than I've ever seen anyone hit a ball. Phenomenal swing speed, around 145mph was sending the ball out of sight. A very down to earth guy who chatted through everythinv he was doing and why.
Brilliant, brilliant day...
The driver should come fairly soon as well as the Trackman data....
Can't wait...
