Smart meters - the work of the devil

I love mine. I got the first gen with British Gas 2 years ago. Well that’s a lie was Sainsbury’s but they are part of British Gas so last year moved to British Gas it carried on working

Moved to OVO for a 2 year deal it works in the best way possible now

I can see the metre readings (price is wrong now but numbers aren’t) but OVO can’t they need me to input them on the app

So no need to get another new metre just press the device and enter on app once a month

All the rumours of them going dead were bull

Switching is no issue and come end of year should work with all suppliers once the software drops
 
I have always been told that the current crop of electricity smart meters are supplier dependant, and until the new Smets 2 meters come out nothing will change. I have been to countless people who have smart meters, change supplier and then the full offering of the smart meter is taken away in that yes it meters, but is no longer smart.
Personally I won't have one until they have a universal offering and I am made to have one.

Yep, my smart meter will not work with my current supplier, so they tell me (apart from me being able to get a meter reading with it). Mind you one of them never worked with the supplier who put in in.
 
We've received several emails asking can they make an appointment to come and fit the meter. After telling them on at least 4 occasions we live in Spain I've now stopped responding to their emails.
