Looking at getting a small estate, Something like a peugeot 207 or similar. Or can anybody give me some recommendations like make, model , petrol or diesel etc. Looking to spend no more than £6k Cheers

Herself has got a Peugeot 206SW... 1.4HDi... Had it for about 5 years with no major issues... £30 a year tax and congestion charge free... Does high 50s mpg around town... Near 70 on a run... She's been more than happy with it...

When I get proper employment again rather than casual work she'll most probably update to a 207SW...

I've seen these and they seem quite handy but unsure about Peugeot reliability. Do the clubs fit in easily? Apparently the Ford Focus estate is good as well.

Reliability has been good aside from a couple of wheel hub bearings... Also a fuel pipe split...
Only borrowed it the once for golf... Dropped the rear seat down to fit clubs in... Most probably would have fitted across rear seats OK...

Focus estates hold their value a lot better... Use same engine for HDi models...

In my opinion you wont beat a Ford Focus. They are bombproof. I drive one every day at work, it gets abused something rotten and still drives brilliantly.

I would buy one.

French cars are the driving equivalent of Russian Roulette. Terrible build quality, poor electrics and mechanical nightmares. Yep you get the odd decent ones but for the most part they are honking.
Focus Estate or Astra Estate would be my recommendation although what about a 1 Series BMW? Ok, so not an estate but quite roomy for a hatch and you can get clubs in the boot and a trolley. Should be able to pick up a decent spec diesel on a 56/07 plate for that cash.
