How are you getting on with the mini? Do you mostly use it as a driver replacement? Give me all the details, good and bad. I am intrigued. Having read the thread a month or so ago on the club I'm interested to hear from those who have one or those who had one have since canned it.

My driver is misbehaving...not me of course, definitely the club...

Mine has been fantastic.

Ridiculously easy to hit and I'm not only finding more fairways but getting more distance than my driver which is an added bonus.

The last two weeks have been some of the most enjoyable rounds of golf i've played as I'm now standing on the tee box with a high level of confidence.

Our 18th is a particularly tricky hole with OOB left, a gully and a row of trees running diagonally on the right. For the three years I've played I would hazard a guess that 90% of my second shots have been played from behind this row of trees which always leaves you scrambling for a five at best. Last Saturday and Today, bombed straight up the middle, green in two and two successive pars.

For me it really is a great club.

ive had a few goes with one. nice enough club but I can still hook the life out of it!

its not a magic club by any means.

I've got one mate, it's got me out of a kind of slump. My driving was/is costing me a few shots per round. Today was the day it was gonna pay for itself, standing on the 17th looking at gross 76 and the first cut of the year. I hit 2 bad drives and finshed 7,5 to be right on handicap. It's not a magic bullet, it's just a big headed 3 wood that doesn't know its place!!!

(I like it, I'm sticking with it!)

I use mine as a straight driver replacement. I think if you slice your driver horribly then you will still slice the mini driver. But probably not as much. It's not a silver bullet, but I find it easier to get vaguely near a fairway with it.

I have had a go with one and they are very nice clubs but i couldnt see anywhere in my bag for one - my 4 wood goes the same distance and has the same control

Mine is easier to hit than my 3 wood and I get a more consistent strike. This is probably due to the size of the head. Like any club though, you make a bad swing and it's hook central for me!

I intended that mine would replace my driver, but it's the three wood that's in the spare bag - Driver is behaving a lot more now it's got competition.

If I'm playing a tight course I'll use the mini on any holes where there's danger - of course you can still duff a shot with it, but it's much easier to hit than my driver.

My driver was already out of the bag so mines has replaced the 3 wood I was using off the tee. Longer, straighter and easier to hit. 4 shots off my handicap since 1st of June when I switched so confidence off the tee is at an all time high for me.

I have only just started to use my 14* Regular (3 Days!) and for me being a high handicapper I am finding it easier to use than my driver, although I haven't put in the bag as a Driver replacement. But I can still slice it if I am not concentrating on my swing, but I am hoping as it is used more the confidence will grow. But I'm glad I tried one and decided to take the plunge, as I don't really miss my 3 Wood as I send to use 3 Hybrid off the deck where others use a 3W

Just had a hit with one in AG it was the stock 14 degree stiff..... hit it well although I had just been up the range and was in the groove (couldnt find it in bloody ireland though!)

I didnt see much difference from my HL 3 wood, it is probably longer but I doubt massively so.

Not sure on the face, it sort of ends and has an overlap from the toe... hard to describe. Not sure if I preferred it over my driver tbh and was striping that at the range..... might give one another go on a grass range in the next week or so but also ordered a wrench for my R1, gonna tweak that a bit 1st ;)

For those using it, how much difference is there in distance between the SLDR min and your normal driver of choice?

Not a great deal the way I was hitting mine the other night tat the range. I would probably say 10-15 yeads shorter than the driver. But then I am working on my angle of attack for the driver which should see me get a few more yards.

I find it about 20 yards longer than my driver.

What tee height are you guys using, for my 14* I have stated with a yellow tee but tempted to try it with a blue to see what the flight is like?

In terms of distance, I think it would depend on your swing speed and contact as to whether you'd hit it shorter than or similar to your driver. The higher your swing speed and better your contact with your normal driver the more likely you'd hit it shorter than your current driver. If you believe the clubfitters most argue that most players have drivers inthe bag with too little loft, too long a shaft and too stiff a shaft so this may help those players in particular.

For me Vs my current driver with no wind and it rolling it's just over 20 yards shorter. Into the wind this is lessened, downwind it increases. The current driver carries further, rolls less and goes further. Into the wind the lower flight of the mini and greater roll closes this gap.

current driver is 10.5 mini is 14. Ithink for me 16 would replace 3 wood, 12 may make driver an ineresting choice as the mini is easier to shape either way.

I'd like a deep faced 3 wood so 16 may fit that bill for me, but as driver has been misbehaving when trying to draw it then 12 might be an option worth considering.

I have the tp option btw. It's easy enough to hit off the deck and wants to draw. However, I hit my normsl driver off the deck quite happily.
