Slamming clubs.... lesson learned!!!

I feel for you,
I will think twice next time... ;)
Its a good excuse now to get a driver fitting, will you be 910 or R11 :p
Jordan :)

Ah good. Not just me then!

Luckily a mate had the R9 supertri too and he just got a new Nike VR Pro. He's letting me use his old one. Hopefully he'll let me have it at a good price!

Came close to helicoptering the wedge a few times this morning but not broken a club for a good few years. Mind you at least you get to try all the shiny new models out there. Had a hit with a TM Superfast today and quite liked it although the shaft even for me is too whippy in regular

I've done my fair share of club slamming but I've got away with it so far. Had a couple of shafts break on a swing though, and a driver shaft nreak at the range last year.

I walked off the 12th green (tough par 4) at Crowborough once and was so pissed off that I had 3 putted after hitting the green in two I lobbed my ball up in the air and took an almighty swing at it with my putter.
I collared it right at the bottom of the shaft, and the putter head, with about half an inch of shaft still attached, dropped to the ground.
Makes you realise just how light a golf shaft is without anything attached to the end of it.
I don't throw clubs anymore. I "toss" them very carefully. I tossed my wedge last week after a particularly stupid duff. First time in ages.
;)

Must have been one hell of a slam to crack a titanium driver, was if off the roadway or clubhouse?

they can deal with impacts in the direction theyre meant to

but everywhere else theyre actually quite weak because of the shape, thickness

whilst playing in a junior tournament a friend who was an assistant at my club,(he was a member elsewhere) he wasnt having the best day, 3 putted another hole tossed his ball up in the air swore quite loudly , as he half-volley'd & middled it about 150 yrds into a corn field the other junior who was with us looked shocked, I said to him "Best strike of the day" and all 3 just started laughing

next green he realised the neck had bent with the impact
and it had some loft and face was open, needless to say it didnt improve its performance

think he tried to bend it back in the workshop but it was never the same.

I leant a friend of mine (fairly new to the game)a Metal id reshafted to a graphite from steel,he hit a duff, ball moved a cpl of inches he slammed the club onto the ball and dented the bottom -

to say i wasnt best pleased slight understatement

just looked it out from the loft

only actually kept it for the shaft, but didnt realize just how beat up the head was too

was play with a man one day when he hit a bad shot with his driver and took it out on his golf bag, which hit with the driver, braking the shaft and breaking the shaft on a 3 wood in the bag
