Sky have announced that a deal has been agreed with Discovery.

so i called sky to get rid of sports and movies to get my bill down, best they could offer was £101, BT is £60, freesat obviously free just phone and broadband. Definitely binning sky, complete rip off.

Just whatever you do, don't go to BT. Their customer service is the worst in the country (they've won ThisIsMoney's Wooden Spoon award for the last two years), their broadband is hugely overpriced and their TV services are nowhere near as good as Sky or Virgin. Either stick with Sky or go to Virgin, BT are pants.

if you want to reduce your sky tv bill then you need to actually serve the months notice to quit. you will start to get offers (usually 40 or 50% off) but leave it until the last minute imo. did this recently and the discount figure got to 75% off everything bar multiroom so am paying £19 a month for the package incl sports (Mrs not so happy that she has lost her feed in the kitchen though lol)
