So Sky and discovery have had a disagreement on price, as of Tuesday the whole discovery package will not be available to sky customers. For me this is one of the main reasons I hav sky, so the question now is Bt tv or free sat, can you get the discovery package on Bt? I've priced it and all in its £60 a month inc phone and broadband. Please s knd of want to keep the kids channels for the young uns

Do what I did, stick your fingers up to Sky TV and get an android box.
I pay Sky £35 pm for unlimited talk, record on box and fibre optic broadband.
I can watch all channels movies, docs and sports.
With the box I can watch ALL games live so that means watching Spurs on Saturday afternoons. In addition I get the golf channel

Just checked and it does say "might" so I'll wait and see. Like you I tend to watch the documentary channels more than any other.

I'm with Virgin Media and have just checked on their help forum. Apparently, VM have a separate agreement with Discovery so the service should continue. Couldn't do without my weekly dose of Wheeler Dealers.

Yeah that's the package I was looking at Coffey, I'd need two boxes as well so think it would be £158 fee, does BT come through satellite dish or areal?

You'd think so, bet they don't though. Are they breaking Thier contract to subscribers?
You'd hope one of the companies gives in before paying customers become affected.
It's just an argument over price that discovery want vs what sky want to pay.
Can you imagine the paperwork its going to cause Sky if they loose them, revenue will drop massively when people leave for BT/Virgin.

Everyone will blame Sky here, I heard it this weekend its due to Discovery group demanding 1billion quid for sky to keep showing their channels. Sky won't pay this as they would have to raise their end customer costs, so they are considering dumping them. I cant see it happening, they will come to an agreement in the end (and our prices will still go up! LOL)

I have to be honest, I have never watched any of the Discovery Channels. The key to this is viewing figures. If too many Sky customers are like me then they will drop Discovery, if more are like some of the other posters then a compromise will occur.

Losing Eurosport would be a miss especially with them having the Olympics both summer and winter plus lots of tennis

I watch discovery every day so it will be interesting to see how this turns out. Interestingly if Sky cant offer it, I will be finding it else where. Oh I do really dislike Sky so not sure what I want the outcome to be but I am not missing all that Discovery junk: Street Outlaws, Gold Rush and so on...

Its not looking good though...
