I use this website and forum via my mobile and despite emailing to ask what is up with it and getting no reply I thought I would post on here in the hope of a resolution.

If I am looking in the for sale section for example, I can see sticky posts at the top, a large advert banner and no posts, even though it says there are thousands.

On some pages where I can view a thread, when I click on it it will take me to a random page from the thread and to a random post instead of starting at the beginning on page one.

I'd like to browse the forum and contribute but currently I am only able to view a small percentage of content.

Thanks for any help in advance.

A newbie asking for help on how to use the forum? Ignored by admin, mods and users - **** me for asking, right?

Check the settings, the defaults are not always obvious to new users, but it lets you choose things like how many weeks of threads to view (which is probably the problem you have with the for sale section), also allows you to change the default view of the thread, changing from start, or end of thread when opening a thread.

It's a standard forum software, so many many sites use the same software.

Thanks for the reply, I use a wide variety of well known forums and they function as they should, the layout is clear and the mods, admin and users are all happy to help.

This site is plagued with issues, even my own post does not display when I go to this sub. I have never known a forum, website or product that from first use is set up to make it non user friendly and that you have to have in depth knowledge of its settings to get it working right - that is the result of a poorly structured and poorly managed website.

I'm now trying to work out how to delete my account but again that looks like I'll have to have a Web programming degree and access to top secret information to complete the task.

The problem is that if you delete an account, you lose the posts that that account has written

Now as a for instance, if we took say, Hogans account down, and lost his posts, then half the threads in OOB would immediately be gobbledegook

so it is general policy not to delete accounts, just stop using it

to the OP, this site is used by thousands of people every week, many on mobiles, we are not getting any other reports of problems, and can only think that there is a problem with the settings on your own device.

There are quite a few things we can't do on a mobile that you can on a pc though, such as download pictures which is a bit of a pain when on my travels.

This new member (OP) was originally querying the FS section, is it restricted in some greater way on a mobile even though he's not got enough post counts yet to post on there?

Seeing as a couple of MOD's are looking on here and rather than start a new thread for something a little trivial, is anyone noticing that when using an emoticon they seem to be on a go slow?

post count isnt an issue when viewing the For Sale section, its just a posting restriction

I have not noticed any issues with smileys  :ears:

Agree Val and also the big massive advert which happens regularly. Makes the site unworkable on a mobile
