Won’t matter a jot for me the 3 match play matches I’ve drawn a 5h/c and two 6 h/cs ?
normally I would tee off first

Interesting, I thought going second would be the majority reply.

Thinking being, if opponent slices one out of bounds or shanks one in the bushes you can play more conservatively.
Depends on your viewpoint. If you go first and slam one up the fairway or on the green, it puts the pressure on them. Rather than them doing that to you.

It's THE question of sport though, isn't it?
Are you a Klopp or a Mourinho? A Davis or a White? A McEnroe or a Borg? A Prost or a Senna?

First, always.

I’ve played matches where the opponent has the honour early, and proceeds to hit every fairway. The pressure of hitting 2nd knowing you’re likely to lose the hole by missing the fairway is pretty draining.

If someone said “you go first”, I’d say “happy days this guy is hoping I make a mistake”.

First every time.
