Journeyman Pro
I know this will probably come back to bite me on the arse next week but, after making some good progress, I want to nail my colours to the mast and get to single figures by the end of the season.
Ever since I started playing, people have said, if I played enough and practiced, I could get to single figures. I've just never played or practiced enough.
I guess I've never really believed that I could do it either.
But, after several rounds in the 70s in competition, I'm actually starting to believe I can get there too.
Mentally, I'm much stronger now as well. A bad first couple of holes would kill me but now I know that I can get it back. Today, for example, 7 over front nine and 1 over coming back.
Even in a couple of really good rounds, I've still left 3, 4 or 5 shots out there easily, so there is much room for improvement. Not least in my short game.
Assuming (after today's round) that I have got cut to 11.7, how many shots under my handicap would I need to be to get to the magic number of 9.4.
I know that the CSS will affect that but I'd like an idea of what I need to do to get there.
