How about posting a selection of the must know should know simple rules of play

I seem to forget more rules than I remember so what would your 6 easy to remember rules start with ?

I know its subjective and 6 isn't many but if you did list the most common needed what would your list be ?

easy way I remember if its 1 or 2 clublengths for relief is if I'm penalised it's 2, if a free drop it's 1.


not exactly what you were after but a useful way to remember clublengths.

I think what is in the Quick Guide is about the minimum one needs to know.
Most people know a lot less!

I bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Golf-Rules-Quick-Reference-2012-2015/dp/3909596495 (other retailers are available) and it has been invaluable. Clear and concise and covers the common scenarios. It's pocket sized and laminated so relatively weatherproof.
