Myself and taylormadephil are entering the 4BBB open at Silverdale on the above date and require 2 extra partners to make up the fourball. The entry fee is £40 for the team so £10 each. The course lends itself to a bit of a giggle so it should be fun - look up the 13th - one of the strangest holes in England. If you find Silverdale golf club on facebook there are loads of photos of the course. You must have a valid hcp by the way......

Last men's match of the season on Sunday. Sorry, mate, but a little far for me to travel for a day!

Shame, as I like Silverdale.

Played Silverdale about 4 years ago when I was on holiday up in the Lake District. :) :)
Followed a 3 ball after they asked me if I wanted to play through, I said no because I was in no hurry and just out for a nice day out, in fact the good lady wife walked around with me. :D :D
One of the guys asked me if I had played it before, when I said no he said to just follow us as it was a strange layout for a newby. :D
Had a fantastic day, with my golf fairly ordinary if I remember correctly, a bit bland when you went over the road but I understand that was part of the new course layout as it used to be a 9 hole course. Remember the 13th :D :D must be one of the most unusual holes in the country, and I remember getting away with a 5 after a cracking tee shot, I thought I did well.
Didn't like the 16th (I think) you walk down a slope to the tee and hit a totally blind shot
But I had a lovely time and meet up with one of the guys in the carpark, got talking to him about some good beer public houses and he sent me to a place that has about 30 real ales which is very famous up in that area. But thats another story.
Nice course, nice people, and i promised myself that one day i will return. :) :)

Four ball complete.

I agree FF - the new holes are maturing though! The 16th's tee is set in an old quarry and it takes a few goes to get used to it. As for the 13th - rock face anyone? Add to that dont miss right - limestone pavement - very bouncy!!!. I started my golfing journey there many moons ago and served 5 years as a member. Which pub was it?

I have been trying to think!!
:D :D
I remember it was north from Silverdale, more into the Lake District. Apparently it is very famous within the area. I remember it had a river running by the side of it and about 30+ real ales. You could look through some glass and see the celler where the beer was kept.
I will carry on trying to remember and check up on some websites and let you know. :D
