Shorts or no shorts

Never wear shorts for golf. Just don't feel right.

Don't mind if others do, that's their choice but I've never understood the knee length sock rule. That just looks daft.

we are allowed to wear shorts at my club so long as they are tailored have belt loops and a turn up on them,

Turn-ups on shorts?! That's handy! Bizarre rule that one

My biggest problem with shorts is working out which casual shoes to wear with them in the club house. I can never find the right pair of shoes to match. Often opt for plain black canvas pumps just because they don't look like trainers

Suede loafers all the way! No need for socks. :whoo:

not a love of shoes without socks, im a traditionalist.

My mates all wear suade loafers without socks and i think,.... yeah it looks ok, but it just dont feel right.

was at the range in delapre this morning and a group of young men were walking towards me in what could only be described as Brits abroad type shorts and top's, perhaps it is my age but felt it was inappropriate but my 23 year old daughter even passed comment and she looks like a hippy.............!

I think if they are smart shorts perhaps ok but the likes of today no and a defo no to the extremely short ones some feel the need to wear - far to heavy on this old gals blood pressure.

Richart, you may want to rephrase your last statement :o

I wear a suit all week and like to dress down when out of work, however when on the course I think that trousers and a smart polo shirt should be aminimum requirement. Ian Poulter style trousers are fine however John Daley trousers should be banned and come with a warning label.

I dont like wearing shorts tbh, just dont feel dressed for Golf, and feel I dont play like I can when I do.

Off to Dubai in May too, and 'wont be wearin em there for Golf either !

Shorts for me, as long as they are not the cargo type, nice tailored ones.
Can't believe there are still clubs out there that make you wear long socks,I wear ankle socks with my shoes, thats the type of club I would avoid like the plauge

Shorts in nice weather for me.

There are some nice styles around from adidas, Galvin Green, Puma, IJP, Nike etc.

Some hideous ones around, usually American type tailored, with pleats. Then again each to his/her own!

Yep, if the weather is ok, it's shorts for me too. I cant stand wearing trousers if its shorts weather, it just doesnt feel right. Trainers to the bar, no socks (or ankle socks), but if some clubs dont let you wear trainers (which I havent actually come across yet), then i'll find something else to wear i suppose.

If its sunny, why wouldnt you wear shorts?
