Shorts or no shorts

Wear shorts all the time in the summer.

No stupid knee length sock rule at my place so can wear trainer socks with them.

Nothing better on a warm evening getting out with shorts and t-shirt.

I must say though that when I play at other courses in the summer I always just wear lightweight trousers so as to avoid any silly rules.

would like to wear shorts more often, but as i play early morning or evening after work i get eaten alive if the legs are exposed. for holiday golf only..

With the warmer weather approaching was just wondering how many of you wear shorts when playing golf?

Alot of people strangely are a definite no-no and only wear trousers, never worn them myself but im tempted to get a nice pair for this summer as it did get a little hot with trousers on last year.

There is actually a guy at our club who wears them all year round! even noticed him wearing them when the course was frozen and i was wearing every layer i could fit on!

If you have legs that belong under a grand piano stay in trousers, otherwise shorts, however shorts are of little use if you stray off into the bunda,

Funny how many have mentioned not having the right 'look/legs' as an arguement to not wearing shorts when the golf community can hardly set itself up as a barometer to fashion

It's horses for courses, in sunnier parts it'll be the guy not wearing shorts that looks a plank!

Yep, my name is CK and I wear shorts...unless there is a knee length sock rule in place. Feel more comfy in shorts and it's another reason not to hit the ball into the deep rough!

Of course shorts. That's when having trainer style golf shoes pay off as well. You turn up looking ready to play, rather than in some dodgy shorts, socks and brogues combo that makes you look like the cast of It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

All these people saying no to shorts becasue white legs look awful. If you wear shorts enough you won't have white legs

Can't help you with the lack of muscle tone in them. In fact, yes I can. Go running :whoo:

I wear shorts but to be fair I look really good in them, to be honest I could wear a sack and I'd still look pretty amazing! ;)

My problem with shorts is more a question of security ... when I wear them on the course, people think I'm an upside-down golf bag with two fairway woods hanging out and they keep trying to turn me upright again.

Nuff said

we are allowed to wear shorts at my club so long as they are tailored have belt loops and a turn up on them,we don't have a long sock rule so can wear ankle socks or shoe sock liners,i have 2 pairs a powder blue and a black pair and they look smart BUT we are not allowed to wear them in the club house.

Well, it saved me writing the same!

Addidas and Nike do a really light pair of golf trousers for about £25 that'll do for me

I'm starting to agree here, last year while working on swing changes I found myself in some funny places on the course all of which resulted in some nasty bites

Nothing looks worse than shorts with ghost white legs and golf shoes. Just looks silly. Trousers all the way for me.

My biggest problem with shorts is working out which casual shoes to wear with them in the club house. I can never find the right pair of shoes to match. Often opt for plain black canvas pumps just because they don't look like trainers
