Shorts or no shorts

Don't even own a pair of golf trousers - i'll play in shorts through the winter as well.

Bluee knees from December - Feb, then pink the rest of the year, bring it on.

If it's hot, my bobbly knees get an airing and although we have a sock rule which I think says socks have to be white for some reason, I tend to ignore it, I doubt many people know it exists.

It does have to be very hot though for me to wear shorts on the course as I prefer trousers and I'd never wear shorts in the evenings as you get eaten alive by bugs

Nothing looks worse than some fat, balding git in a pair of khaki shorts, "sporting" black ankle socks and a pair of matching black golf shoes. Look like a German fecking tourist.
I would line them all up against the pro shop wall and machine gun them
:mad::mad:

no shorts for me either mainly because of the shorts rule. Cannot see the point in shorts and knee length socks i know some places have relaxed the sock lenghth but i could never work out what you gained other than sunburnt knee caps from shorts and long shorts

I hate shorts on a golf course with a passion. I haven't got the legs for them anyway, but even if I did I wouldn't wear them. Poxy things....

Well, it saved me writing the same!

Addidas and Nike do a really light pair of golf trousers for about £25 that'll do for me

With the golf swing stance the shorts then stick out making them look like a pair Freddie Star would wear:o

That, and the fact that looking down at your ball you then get distracted by 2 spindly bits of string hanging down from your shorts:eek:

Definitely shorts for me when it gets warm enough.

I have a mate who wears shorts religiously on the course from April 1st through to October 31st. His argument is that during that time it's warm enough to wear them if it's dry, and too warm to be wearing trousers under waterproofs when it's raining. There's logic there somewhere.

My view is that with all the modern materials the trousers I wear to play golf make it feel like I am in shorts!

They were worth the expense last year as I never got sunburnt on my legs (only just avoided it on my face) and still felt cool in the process.

With my northern skin and this southern weather I have to, the old men down hear have sun beaten leather skin so they seem OK when I would end up with massive sunburn!

shorts for me everyday soon as it gets warmer, our club is just normal whites socks, have played at a couple of courses were you have to wear knee length socks

Shorts here as soon as it's warm enough but then no silly sock rules apply

Only downside is my ridiculously white feet as my legs get very brown!

Never wear shorts and envy those that do and can. I don’t take to hot sunny weather. I have very fair skin and burn just listening to the weather forecast if it’s for sun. Only my arms and face are exposed when I play in full sun, which I smother in factor 60. I wear a bucket hat to protect ears and back of neck.

My ideal golf weather is grey overcast, so in the UK I’m happy most of the time :smirk:
