Shells

These programmes are great, not just for the golf, but the frequent cuts to the history of the course and the local area.

The clip of Gene Sarazen vs Henry Cotton tonight was a classic........

Ya Rick.....Excellant programmes......Its nice to see the contrast to the game of today.....Makes you wonder why the hell everyone wants to knock the ball into the stratosphere in todays game

Have saw that one before mate Seve was all over the place. The two shops in the back gound ain't there anymore they been taken over by the R&A.
Still great to watch tho.

Watching it myself just now, you forget the flare and fire of Seve.

Tragic story about Young Tom Morris who died aged 24 shortly after his wife died in childbirth..... Could have been one of golfs all time greats......4 consecutive opens by the age of 21.......unbelievable...

Stay tuned though because they're just about to air the 1997 Byron Nelson and then Golfing World is on after that.....just about to settle down with another beer... :D

I think he is generally considered one of golf's all time greats anyway.

I read "Tommy's Honour" by Kevin Cook last year. The story of Old and Young Tom. Absolutely fascinating insight into the early days of the game and it's first great golden age in the mid 19th Century.
