What does it mean.have not been getting on with the R11.

Gone back to the burner (50gms) on shaft, hiutting it far better than i ever did the R11

What does this mean etc.....is the light shaft better for me, and why is it easier to hit.

thanks,

Sean.

ligher shaft = easier to swing faster, heavier shaft = slower swing speed but easier to find the middle of the club.

When i got my g15 the stock shaft was too whippy, too light and too long.

I got custom fitted for a shorter heavier stiffer shaft and ended up driving it longer as I could find the sweet spot more!

IMO leave it to the pro custom fitters to sort those details out, a session is well worth the money!

Heavier shafts normally have very low torque (the amount the shaft will twist) low torque shafts tend to feel very stiff and boardy, unless you have the swing speed to match them.
Swing tempo can also make shafts feel softer or stiffer.Last time i had my swing speed measured i was averaging 108 mph,but because my swing tempo is quite steady,i find it hard to get the best from shafts with very low torque figures.

At a guess a 50g shaft would have a torque figure of around 4.0-4.5,heavier tour spec shafts normally have torque figures nearer 2.5-3.5 Low torque (heavy) shafts tend to have high kick points,so they launch the ball lower.Higher toque normally means higher launch.
