never done it before but I have 2 similar heads (drivers not mine) one with a stiff and one with a reg, anyone know what a pro charges roughly to swap the shafts over if thats the way I go?

Pro that did mine charged £20 if that any help
for one or two?
thats expensive, i want to swap the shafts between two sets of irons.
i might invest in a shaft puller then

Its not expensive. Your Pro is not a charity and that to me is a fair price. To start with he needs to invest in a shaft extractor to pull graphite shafts, he also needs to invest in a heat gun. He'll need to use electricity to heat the shafts, he'll need to be compensated for his time, he'll need to clean and prepare two shafts to reuse them, he needs to then re-glue two shafts into heads, he now needs to add two new ferrules to finish.
Its not unreasonable in my opinion.
you don't need one with irons unless it involves graphite shafts, hot air gun and a gardening glove to hold/twist the hot clubhead.
thanks for the advice, i'll have to look into doing that
i do think that is expensive for taking one shaft out and putting another in, i want swap the shafts over in 2 sets of irons so that would cost me £160!
i appreciate the pro has to buy the equipment i guess i could almost cover the cost alone in the £160

shaft extrator £94 hot air gun £20 ????
and what part of saying something is expensive implies i actually think nothing is a fair price?
Some people![]()

It would take a pro approx an hour or thereabouts to swap 2 shafts, so £20 an hour labour. Would you find anyone giving an hours lesson for that?
It's not a dig mate just another way to look at a pros time.
I CANT BELIEVE the pro wont give up his time for FREE.......
i was referring to this post "For Free"and i do disagree with you slightly
the pro can, and probably will get somebody else do do it, the trainee - cheap labour
he also has more flexibilty for when he can do it, a quiet weekday morning.
i was also thinking about £20 per club in my circumstances, swapping shafts in 2 irons sets is expensive
but as said above it will probably be cheaper, but we shall see
im building up to trying it myself, not to save dosh but a bit of satisfaction really.
Irons are easy mate. Woods you will need an extractor.
