What would be considered to be a 'good' price for a Circa No.3? I've had a look around the web and they all seem to be near the £180 mark. This seems a bit expensive but is this the going rate for a brand new one?
I did see somewhere selling all the Circa'62 models for £160, still a lot but thats what they seem to go for, and will at least hold their value I imagine.
I have two, and love both of them. If you have a solid putting stroke, and like a nice, well made, no frills putter, then you can't go wrong. If you are after one to solve a putting problem, it won't work, buy a branding iron. (I am talking proper Scotty's here, not futura/detour stuff, they are just hideous).
It also helps to play with a soft ball, as anything made by Cally, or Srixon ZUR type just leaps off the face. These balls work best with a putter with an insert face.
These putters also need to be looked after. They need drying after each shot, and need to be oiled regularly. Otherwise they rust. Badly.
The charcoal mist finish, and the older oil black finish are not good at protecting the putter from rust. TLC is the answer.
Or, get a studio select, which is stainless, but can dazzle on a sunny day. I use mine in the winter, when looking after my old circa 62 no.2 is a pain.
Come the summer though, the circa is the business.
As mentioned I love the look of the Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #6 but all I can find online is the 35" and no mention of a 33", I don't want to have to get it cut as more than not I will then have to fork out for a new grip if my local pro did it. Does anyone know where you can get fitted for scotty putters?
I am looking for a 33" one, seen some on EBay but don't really want the aggro of spending that kinda cash on EBay. I looked at the UK scotty website and I don't think you can order putters from them, I have done google search after google search and every Circa 62 #6 is 35".
