Scottish Open - Castle Stuart

flat calm today, easy scoring for these guys, no doubt will be calls the course is too easy with no wind and the tee's well forward.

one day with a bit of wind and complaints its too hard...

They can't win, these boys are pampered, like Patrick said Royal Dornoch was harder last week, and a harder course in general in my opinion but they complain with a stiff breeze and the tour has to apologise, joke in my opinion.
These boys are the best in the world and what they do for a living, get on with it and welcome to the real world 😀😂😂

Proper wind players don't moan they embrace the challenge , Brandon Grace and Alex Noren just get on with it, the wind there getting are nothing like what we normally get up here. For those the guys the course isn't overly difficult and a warm up for next week, still think they should have had it at Royal Aberdeen again tho a proper challenge.

It was overly difficult if the European tour are coming out to apologise, why is Royal Aberdeen more of a challenge in your opinion?
Castle Stuart is in superb condition and like most links courses the weather dictates the severity of the course, the open included.

The fairways are wide open at Castle Stuart ,Royal Aberdeen is much tighter ,tougher test, they only cam rout to apologise as the players were moaning

Only wide open if you hit them 😀
Which wasn't the case on Thursday.
These boys are the best in the world and should just get on with it, some players enjoyed it some didn't, that's life though.

Thats the joys of links golf some enjoy it some hate, I've played it for over 30 years and never tire of it

It's generally the opinion of club golfers that's pro's are majorly pampered. Overnight rain and its preferred lies the following day, too windy and the play is abandoned.

What we have to take into account is consistency when it's people playing for their living. But i do agree, of club golf was played and cancelled/abandoned/temporary postponed in the same style, we'd play 9 holes a month!

Thing is we dont need another 'The Open' the week before The Open, that's what going to Royal Aberdeen does. If you grow castle Stuart fairways in they could make it way harder but it's a different style of tournament trying to attract a wide field so I don't think they want to do that, if you turn it into an energy sapping, wrist breaking, rough hacking Open copy experience the week before The Open you'll just turn players away. As it is it's a good tournament on a fine course that offers links style play without the tee shot tightness and brutality of The Open conditions. I have played Royal Aberdeen (many times) and Castle Stuart (only once), Castle Stuart is just as tough in my view.

More than likely, i think its that the European Tour came out and apologised for the conditions and TV trying to make out it was unplayable That i have a problem with. They softened the greens and moved the tee's up the next day so the course was playing a bit shorter and easier.

I played on Thursday and it was 25 MPH with the odd gust at 35 maybe.. these guys need to get back in the real world, Golfers play in harder conditions week in week out, no ball spotters etc, etc

what ever next a tournament being disrupted and play abandoned for the day because there is a bit of wind;)
