Takes place next weekend. I've never been but am at a loose end on Friday so thinking about going along this year.

Who's been? Is it worth a trip through to the weege or would I be better just going and playing 18 holes somewhere?

Go when it's on in Glasgow and going on Friday. Good for a wee nosey, a burger and 3 free rounds. Don't expect any crazy discounts. Never bother queuing to try the clubs as you can do that any time at AG. Do enjoy it when smaller club makers have a stall.

I went last year on a Friday morning. Best time as it's not busy. I'd have to say that on the AG stand I picked up a brand new Benross Hot Speed 2 driver for £40 and 3 wood for £30 (both £100 below shop price) and have been delighted with them. They do have some grest bargains.
If you want any of the coaching, book it as soon as you go in and the same applies to trying out any clubs.

Can't find the answer to this on the website but does anyone know if can you pay on the door rather than buying a ticket in advance? Suspect it might come down to how I feel Thursday night / Friday morning.

Karen go treat yourself to a game of golf somewhere, got fed up being underwhelmed by the golf show long time ago. By the time you pay for tickets parking and a bite to eat you'll have spent the best part of £40.

It looks pretty much exactly the same exhibitors, shop and games as it was when I went 5 or so years ago.

Unless they revamp the format and do something different/exciting, I doubt I'll go back.

Well I'm back from today and actually enjoyed it. Yes, it's the same format but it's the same format only once a year so no great hardship. All the major manufacturers there with clubs to try, a good few charity events, some great bargains on the AGD stand (New Srixon Z545 forged 5-PW at £199, ex demo Cobra Fly-Z and Fly-Z XL at £50 to name but two) and getting there early I got a free lesson pretty quickly, tried out the irons I'm interested in, picked up my tickets for three free rounds of golf, two sets of Champ spikes for £10, Ping ball marker and 6 Chrome Soft for free.

My auntie is through helping her friend sell nutrition snacks.

Might text her to see if she can snaffle me some tickets and a few chromesofts.

I think most people that go are underwhelmed, i usually suggest go if if you have never been, year on year the show does not evolve or improve in anyway, i have been a few times but then I won quite a lot from the Longdrive comp.

I would like to see it more in the Summer time (Of course the purpose is to flog gear so that cannot really happen) but Golf Live seems to be a better day out. Really the Golf Show is not much more than a glorified golf store with a lot of launch monitors jacked up to make you buy clubs (P.S all uk shows are the same, none are better or worse really)

(I hit on 3 machines that overstated my speed by 10%) each company hopeful of selling the latest driver based of these numbers

I was there with the wife and son. The wee guy loved it and I was quite happy wandering around too. Wasreally impressed by the Pure Strike putters and seriously thought about getting one.
Mizuno stand was nice (of course I would say that) and had a laugh on the wee challenges. Was a bit too busy for the allowable space though.

Overall it was a good day out as Jacko says, to kill a few hours.

Going to look at those putters though, felt superb and rolled the ball fantastically well.
