Scottish Amateur championship at Royal Aberdeen

Tantallon GC plays over the West Links as does Bass Rock GC. Don't quite remember what the access rights are

Correct - Tantallon & NBGC have the same access rights to the West links but separate clubhouses. BRGC is an no-clubhouse Artisan Society with ~100 members, 90 of whom must simultaneously be a member of Tantallon or NBGC with the other 10 being Bass Rock only. Since NBGC was founded in 1832, Tantallon in 1853 and Bass Rock in 1873 I think no one quite remembers how it got this way !

I was careful to say 'track' and not 'Club' in my original post since some Tantallon members are fervent 'TTID' * :)

looks like Sandy is 4 up against your guy, Tough ask for Adam with there being a 7 shot difference between them handicap wise

Sandy Though to the next round with a 7&5 win..

I hadn't realised the gap in h/c was so big. Can't be many times you're 7 shots worse than your opponent when you play off 2. That's a tough draw.

Not like that, went beyond the borders of probability:lol:

There was six matches on the trot where six members of two clubs were playing, If I recall correctly no members of the same club played each other. I have never seen that in a draw for an amateur championship

The Two Boys from Forres played against each other.

By the look of things Sandy is the lowest handicap in the field from what i could see and is lowest ranked of the Mens OOM, not bad for a 17 year old....

Mind you he was beaten in The Nairn scratch knock out by a complete hacker a couple of years ago and the gap was as big as that then as well;)

Only Graeme Roberson left for Glenbervie now, good 7 & 6 versus a local lad, playing against a Carnoustie player today, good luck, Greame was beaten finalist 2 years ago at Dowanfield.

our two lads both through to the 4th Round.

Sandy having to play twice yesterday, luckily only having to play 27 holes.

will be in Aberdeen today so going to pop in and watch some for a couple of hours.

Great golfer this lad, must be hard trying to keep it going at this level having a young family & holding down a job. Would expect him to beat anyone left in the event if he continues his form
