Scotland v England at Goswick

I was called uncouth by the ugly blonde hag !!!!!!!!

I told her a SNIPER wouldn't take her out .... was that a bad thing to say?

By the way, I think Viscount17 deserves a medal for paddling on Goswick beach. You were a braver man than me Steve.

Next year I will bring a lump of Stinking Bishop, perhaps the finest English soft cheese goes lovely with a bit of plum chutney

Strangeley, i had a stinking bishop up there this time. :o
Wash room facilities were a tad ........ crap really.
Dodger thinks that the kings arms might be closing, I think they opened it up for us for one night only.

Can I endorse what everyone has already said.
Big thanks to
Alan Snr, a gent
DCB thanks for the leg work.
Tincup & Century for putting up with me. I think i've developed swingnesia, and I putted like,,,,, well,,, a stinking bishop
To ALL the England boys for their sterling effort.
Scotland boys for playing the game in the spirit it deserved.
Goswick golf club
Screwback for sorting the weather out as requested.
Whereditgo, my travelling companion. Next time i'll make sure I turn your bed around so the bathroom is on your left.
Lastly to GM cos without this forum, these events would never of started in the first place and I, for one wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet so many honourable and friendly folk as I have over these past few years.

I will raise a glass of the finest single malt to you all tonight. I would have had some stilton to go with it had Andy not curtailed my elation after 30 seconds for another nearest the pin.
Here's to the next one.
And if Brendy can muster some of Irelands finest, I'm sure when one or two drop out, both of you could stand in

PMSL, i bet he didn't know you'd seen him.

Had the best nights kip i've had for about 4 years last night.
Double dose of cough syrup, beechams powder, Vic rubbed on chest, back and bottom of my feet and 5 port & brandies.
9 1/2 hours later, full English... cushty.. feeling a little better already

Can't believe the Scots lads lost, after the thrashing we gave them last year :p

must have missed me after all :D

Glad you had a good weekend lads, look forward to the rematch oh and well done England.

last one home, as last year after a splendid weekends sporting endeavour and an intense Friday night of social pleasure, I added a little culture - this time a trip along Hadrian's wall - clumsy b, leaving all those stones about the place.

I add my thanks to DCB for his organisation, Goswick for a splendid course, Dodger Snr for his splendid performance - there were too many claiming to have arranged the splendid weather to single out just one.

big thanks to Chris (bumpyjock), JF, StuartD (both days) IMO2 and Screwback for some spendid company and a vision of how golf should be played.

once again a pleasure to meet a lot of old and new forum faces - and special thanks to all the guest players who filled the blanks and really got into the spirit - will we see some new forum names soon?

andy, that clearly cannot be me, the dunghampers are too well fitting!

I'm interested in who was applying the Vic to the Vig - a spare blonde perhaps?

oh, and put my name down for next year.

There are two folks that I didn't thank yesterday afternoon, probaby because I was doing a Corey Pavin and was emotionally overcome after the final result.

To Screwback, thanks for your help in dealing with the Club way back in March as we got this thing rolling, and more recently as we dotted the I's and crossed the T's in the last few days. Thanks Alan

To SS2, thanks for your help in collating all the info into the spreadsheet. Hopefully everyone got one when I emailed them out, but it was an invaluable aid when working out who was who and what their details were. Thanks Andy.

And to Dodgers dad, I did thank him for everything as I left the 1st tee yesterday. I hope the ribs get better and you're swinging a club again soon.

Big thanks to DCB,Vig and all the guys who made the trip for what was a top couple of days golf.

Just watched J_F's top quality video...pleased you captured SS2 celebrating victory on the last against me on Friday but where were you on Sat when Viscount17 made birdie from the fairway bunker to snatch victory for us..

Look forward to the next one.

Yep, thanks to all involved, and would definately be up for this for the decider next year. Still miffed that I missed the Friday evening bash. Must leave the Mrs at home next year. Note to Andy, don't pick the weekend after the 13th Oct, or I will be in the same boat....

Given a year, I might even refind a bit of my swing.

Just glad I didn't have to drive 6 1/2 hours home with a lump of stilton in the car.

Thinking about it on the way home on saturday, there was definately some good golf played as Saturdays games were off the White tees and 3/4 handicap. So 42/41/40 points was some going indeed.

Not been around for a couple of days as I have been sitting in a darkened room listening to DCB’s whale music CD after my second 18th green capitulation in two years in this event. To be fair Viscounts excellent bunker shot did put me under severe pressure and I responded magnificently from an English point of view :o :o

Thanks goes to DCB, SS2 and Screwback for getting everything organised with the club, numbers etc.

Thanks to Dodger Snr again for his Ivor Robson role

Thanks to JF for being patient during the white knuckle ride there and back in my new motor as I tried to find the window washers.

TO Viscount (fair that honours were even after both days) Grumpyjock, JF, IMO2 and Screwback, enjoyed your company and witnessed some great golf from you all.

Got Home tired on Saturday night (don’t know how some of you could manage going out again) to see my wee boy sitting in his high chair eating his apple crumble shouting “Daddy Crumble, Daddy Crumble”. Couldn’t help but think he was talking about my golf :D :D

I think Phil should change his name from Whereditgo to wheredidtheygo

And Grumpyjock is now Bumpyjock after an altercation with a van.
Didhegothere is more reality
Grumpybumpy is better.
Well done to DCB and Vig for just being the captains, a hard post even if no-one remembered the list from Friday night.
A joyful thanks for draging me round to my partners over the weekend and well done to our opponants of both rounds.
no pressure no pleasure.
If the next event takes place why not have a combined team from Scotland and Ireland Vs England.
Could make a long weekend Friday to Monday.
Thanks again for the invite and I :D shall be back.

Lol. :D :D :D

Top company again Stuart. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Though I'm sure I said it would be daft to split up a winning combination, didn't I?

I went to that 40th birthday party about 3 hours after getting back to Edinburgh but I was like a half shut knife all night. Scotty got a nice stay at the Belfry with golf thrown in as his main pressie from the wife. Not at all jealous.

Hey, hey, Chris. Steady on mate. Shouldn't it be Scotland v England and Ireland? Remember we're still 23-21 ahead of you mob on aggregate! I don't think us Jocks are quite at the stage where we need to be inviting "the Europeans" onto our team yet.

:D
