Scotland, near Oban - which courses worth playing?

A wee bit away but Traigh golf club has the best views anywhere.

You could try the Carrick on Loch Lomond if driving past on the way up.

Never played glencruitten but I think that’s meant to be best roundabout that neck of the woods.

Couple hours drive to machrihanish.

I played a couple of them in 2023; Taynuilt was very enjoyable and in excellent condition. Dalmally is incredible for scenery, greens weren’t the best at Dalmally but both of these courses are small setups (I say that as a member of a large south of England club) and what they produce at such a cheap price is absolutely amazing. Both offered an extremely warm welcome and I would go back in a heartbeat if the opportunity ever arose.

Glencruitten, Taynuilt and Dalmally are the 3 worth playing if your staying in the Oban area

If you have a bit of extra time on your hands you have Machrihanish Dunes, Machrihanish and Dunaverty all around a 2 hour drive from Oban

I’ve driven past Dalmally many, many times when travelling between Glasgow and Oban and given its setting I’ve often thought I’d like to play it…but never had my clubs with me or the time to stop.

Or jump on the boat to Craignure and head up to Tobermory…now that’s a fun 9 holer in a fabulous setting.
