I just received an email supposedly from a Susan McKenzie @ Hotmail, saying my hotmail email account needs renewing or it will expire 15th of next month :confused:. Anyone heard of this ??

I often get the one that says my storage is full, emails will stop, follow the link to pay for extra space. They go straight into my spam box now but sadly someone out there will panic and send them money.

I think I’ve had 100 emails from ‘Sky’ saying I need to log in otherwise my account will deactivate. I will log in and pay some money to get me back up and running.

NOT!

First thing with all of these, is it addressed to you, Fred Bloggs, or dear customer, or something similarly generic & nondescript. If it's addressed to you, do something about it; if it's not addressed directly to you consign it to the waste bin of cyberspace.

Unless you're clever enough to be able to put your "bank details" in a link, which, when they click on it, downloads the computer equivalent of Covid 19 onto their server. (y) :)

Anyone else noticed a huge increase in this crap since Covid 19 started?

This is not true at all, if I look in my spam folder now there are countless items with my name on them.

Better still, hover your mouse pointer over the linky and you can read what the address is that they want to take you to. DO NOT CLICK ON IT THOUGH. It will not be the genuine web address of your supposed subject:)
