Just wondering if anyone else off here was planning on going to the Ryder Cup & whether there could be a forum beer during the event?

No doubt, all the great and the good from GM Towers will be in attendance and will stand us loyal forum members a beer or two! :D

Me and Fragger are there on the Friday.
I'm sure some of the GM boys will be there - maybe we can all meet up at a pre-designated spot.

The Beer Tent!!

I may be going on the Saturday, but not a definite yet! Need to wait for a friend of a friend to decide if he really wants to go…

Please, please, please remember.....
Take your waterproofs and an umbrella.
I'd hate any of you to catch cold

Oh! And welly boots. Don't forget the welly boots

I'm assuming that the wellies are nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with the late night entertainment with the local sheep? :D

Deep joy - can't wait to get my eye poked out! :D

Ban Umbrellas from the RC - you can't see past them and the rain drips off onto someone else - mainly me!

We're Golfers ferchrissakes - we've got waterproofs!!

Good luck to all those who are going. I looked up some things on the official web site yesterday and there is a lot of ''you cant do this, and cant do that'' lots of rules.
No phones (a good thing) but no camera's. It looks like you have to park miles from the venue, and traffic restrictions are all over the place. I think buses only go about a mile from an entrance.

I have booked my Friday off, and will be there from the beginning. I plan to forsake my golf and my football (support my local team who are playing at home on the saturday) and plan to watch the whole event from beginning to end. The good lady is totally awear of my plans, so no problem there.

And to finish it off, our golfing society has it's Autumn meet on the Monday (4th Oct) so I can take on the course what I have seen on the TV. Yeah OK :D :D :D

I will be at Royal County Down on the Sunday to watch the golf if anyone wants to meet me for a pint?

Me and a friend are going for the practice day on wedensday and the friday. Were staying at a campsite in a place llanwit major from the tuesday till the monday. We were planning on getting a hotel but they are charging stupid money so decided to camp instead as it's only costing us £35 each for 6 nights so more money for beer! :)

Can anyone reccomend any good courses to play in the area because we plan to play a few rounds while we are down there.

Enjoy it if you are going. I've got a round at Sand Martins booked for 8.30 on the Friday and back into the clubhouse for some dinner and to watch the afternoon session. Early round on Saturday and the same and very early round to get back for the start of the singles on the Sunday

Southerndown is a nice course not too far from Llantwit also the Vale resort and Cottrell Park are not too far.

I will be there for Thursday to Sunday, the course is looking magnificent. The buzz has been building up for weeks now.
