First and second day..£100 entry :(
Sunday....£130
Park and ride £20
Add on the prices for food and drink and it turns out to be a very costly day indeed.
And it might be a bit muddy.

My vantage point will have a clear view point, cold beer on tap, temperature control, weather proof surroundings and plenty of snacks and meals ... my armchair.

Sorry, couch !!!!!!!

I'm with you here... I've already checked and I'm rostored off work so there will be a few days of pure laziness while the Ryder cup is on. 50" plasma, comfy sofa and beer. Might sneak some food in there occasionally!!

This.

I'm only 45 minutes from Celtic Manor across the border, but I have no desire to pay that much to go and watch it live, especially as the weather will probably be terrible. (It is Wales after all)

I'd much rather watch it on TV and pay that much to play the Twenty Ten next year when I'm invited down by one of my mate's parents who are members at Celtic Manor :)

With all that goes on around the golf course during the Ryder Cup, I think watching it on TV is the only way to go...Unless of course you're in some mid-western US City when it's 35 degrees and sunny in late september.

Just been reading a local Sth Wales rag on t'internet.

There was an ad on the page for a 4 bed house for rent during RC week. Any guesses on price Monday - Monday??

It's definitely a rip off, but I'm still going. Never been to one before and got tickets through the ballot so didn't want to turn them down, might not get another chance

TV is great foor watching golf, bit sampling the atmosphere and being able to get so close to the players is fantastic

Spot on(ish), just under 4K for each bedroom!!!!!

No tickets/ transfers/ hospitality/ food etc included. Oh, and bring your own toilet roll.

£15K for a house in the middle of nowhere for 1 week.

I don't work Friday's so was prepared for three days infront of the tele, wife has recently mentioned she's going to Rome with her friend. from the 1 - 3 October leaving me and the six year old at home.

I wonder if the boy fancies a weekend at his grans... :D

Well I'm going and bugger the cost.
£100 for a whole day actually isn't that bad if you think you can pay £40-50 for a concert or a footy match and that's only a couple of hours. And you'll spend the same money on parking and food regardless.
See you there ColinT!!

I considered going but when I've been to the matchplay at Wentworth before, I've never enjoyed it as much as the strokeplay tour events I've been too. With matchplay it can be pretty hectic if you try to stick to one group. There seems to be more people for each group compared to strokeplay events and this means you are constantly struggling to get a decent view of the group. If you camp on one or two holes to watch all the groups come through, then you're more sure of getting a better view but you see less golf.

I've stupidly booked a holiday whilst it's on. Out in Cape Verde for a week going Thu-Thu.

Not sure if it will be on the box down there.

Wonder if I can SKY+ it and watch it when I get back without finding out the result beforehand.
