ok we lost to a far better team ... 1st ryder cup we have lost for ages and now we want to change the whole system because a poor team performance and a captain who`s picks were awful . we had a team full of rookies and 2 so called experienced picks that bottled it when it mattered...nobody wanted to change the qualifiying system after gleneagles did they !. USA are gonna dominate for the next 2/3 ryder cups ...they have better players and better putters in there team . we have only 2/3 standout players , usa have 10 or so and another 5/6 waiting their turn ...i think european tour can have any qualification system they want ...USA have better players .

if a european player's desire is to play a ryder cup for his continent, he will try to qualify whatever the criteria. if it is not high on his priority list the team is probalby better off without him

European Tour really need to look at their scheduling to make things more appealing to the players. In the space of 18 days they will have competed in China, Turkey and South Africa which is just ridiculous.

Its the European members of the European tour versus the American members of the PGA tour.

The concepts of the tours as they are now were some distance away in 1927 when the RC began so it was probably a little clearer back then.

It's the European members of the European Tour Vs an American Team under the PGA Of America. Not the PGA Tour. This allows for the US Captain to pick a US person who, for example, only plays on the European Tour. Granted there's not been any examples of this, but their rules allow it.
