Rule question

New ish to golf and wanting to start entering Comps soon.

My question is, what happens if I tee off and think my ball is ok but then aren't able to find it and haven't played a provisional ball.

Its the dreaded long walk back to the tee,always best to play a provi if your not sure !!!!!!

It depends what comp it is. If it's a Stableford, you can just blob that hole or walk back to fire 3 off the tee. If it's Match play, you can conceed the hole, or walk ......etc. If it's a Medal, you can enter N/R or walk back .....etc. But as said above, if unsure it's best to hit a provisional ball to save the walk back.

I use that book too and have it in my bag alongside the main rule book for those ones that are a little more in depth. The 2 together should make it easy to get a ruling on any matter.
